Youth NRA “First Steps” Pistol Orientation class to be held at Tusco Rifle Club on Saturday, June 21. 2014.

NRA “First Steps” Pistol is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation of handguns. This course is approximately three and a half hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a semi automatic handgun and a revolver. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; cleaning the pistol; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will be using 22 caliber handguns on the indoor range at Tusco Rifle Club.
Class will be taught by NRA certified firearms instructors.  Class will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will last until 12:30 p.m. This class will be limited to those who are 15 to 19 years old with a total class size of eight students. It is our goal to hold one of these classes on a monthly or bi-monthly basis. Due to a most generous donation of 22 caliber ammo there will be no charge for this class.
For students under the age of 18, a parent/guardian must sign a “hold harmless” the morning of the class.
